Wolf Alice have never been the type to do big, flashy announcements. Their latest hint at new music follows exactly the same pattern. Subtle, maybe accidental, and just cryptic enough to get fans spiralling.
The buzz kicked off when a fan tweeted, “Had a dream last night that Wolf Alice announced their new album.” The band’s official account fired back with a simple but loaded reply: “Dream or vision?”
That was enough to set off alarms across stan Twitter, and bassist Theo Ellis added fuel with a follow-up reply: just an egg timer emoji. No context. No confirmation. Just a digital hourglass and a thousand fan theories.
There’s been no official announcement. No tracklist, no release date, no moody press photos—but the timing’s hard to ignore. The band were recently announced for both Glastonbury 2025 and Radio 1’s Big Weekend next month. After two years of near-silence (aside from a low-key charity gig in late 2022), it’s a clear signal they’re back in motion.

They’ve also just signed to Columbia Records, following their split from indie label Dirty Hit. This could potentially mark a shift that could come with a new era, or at least provide them with a bigger stage to shout from.
Wolf Alice’s last album, Blue Weekend, landed in 2021 and has sine pushed the band into new territory. It’s bigger choruses, deeper grooves and less chaos but more clarity. Since then, they band have also mostly stayed quiet, letting the record breathe while fans waited (and waited) for the next move.
Now, it looks like that particularly move is coming. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but something is certainly ticking.
Whether the “dream or vision” tweet was just playful fan-bait or a carefully planted breadcrumb doesn’t really matter. They’re booked, they’re online, and they’re back in the room. If this is the beginning of Album Four, the clock is officially running.
