Yungblud has confirmed he has “massive plans” for an Australian tour, and says he’s working to bring his UK-born Bludfest to Aussie shores.
Yungblud has confirmed he’s coming back to Australia — and he’s not planning to come alone.
In a recent chat with Rolling Stone AU/NZ, the UK artist revealed he has “massive plans” for an Australian tour in support of his upcoming fourth studio album, IDOLS. But more than just a run of headline shows, he says he’s pushing to bring his festival, Bludfest, along for the ride.
“There’s a tour in the works because we’re doing a world tour [for the album],” Yungblud said. “Obviously we’re going to America, and Europe, and the UK, but after that we definitely have plans to come to Australia.”
Bludfest launched last year in the UK as a response to what Yungblud saw as growing inaccessibility in the live music space. The event capped ticket prices at £49.50 (around $103 AUD) and included performances from Lola Young, Landon Barker, Lil Yachty, and Nessa Barrett alongside Yungblud himself.
The next edition will return to Milton Keynes Bowl this weekend with a stacked lineup featuring Australia’s own Chase Atlantic and Peach PRC, plus Denzel Curry, Blackbear, and JXDN.
With Australian music fans still reeling from the cancellation of flagship festivals like Splendour in the Grass and Groovin the Moo, Yungblud says he sees an opportunity to try something new here.
“I know the Australian festival market has been struggling, so I really want to try my best to implement a new idea with Bludfest because it worked in the UK,” he explained. “We’re already talking about taking it to Paris and Prague and Latin America. I’ve been trying to rally everyone… I think that’d be really cool.”
Australian dates for an IDOLS tour and potential Bludfest editions are yet to be announced, but look alive, Yungblud fans – it looks like there’s some announcements on the horizon.
