Ohio heavy hitters 156/Silence are back with a brand new record, officially announcing their next full-length album From a Distance, arriving September 4th via Pure Noise Records.
The announcement lands alongside the release of the album’s intense lead single, No Arms, giving fans a brutal first taste of what’s shaping up to be one of the band’s most emotionally charged releases yet.
Speaking on the track, the band explained (per Alternative Press):
“‘No Arms’ is about being without a way to protect yourself and what belongs to you. Being alone and afraid, not having any means to control the situations that befall on us. The overwhelming feeling of being helpless until we’re not. Until somebody saves us.”
The song arrives with a cinematic new music video directed by Errick Easterday, following a masked figure pursuing a man through an urban landscape before presenting him with a life changing choice, a visual that mirrors the song’s themes of vulnerability, fear and eventual salvation.

From a Distance marks the latest chapter for the metalcore outfit, who have steadily built a reputation for blending crushing heaviness with emotionally raw songwriting and chaotic, atmospheric intensity.
The 10 track record also features notable guest appearances from Tony Castrati of Crippling Alcoholism and Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, further raising anticipation among heavy music fans.

The announcement comes during a packed touring schedule for 156/Silence, the band are currently wrapping up dates alongside Thornhill, Fox Lake and Vianova before hitting select headline shows and appearing at Inkcarceration.
Later this year, they’ll support Chiodos alongside sace6 and Calva Louise, before closing out the run with an appearance at Louder Than Life in September.
With No Arms setting a dark and gripping tone, From a Distance looks set to expand the band’s sonic reach while maintaining the aggression and emotional weight that has earned them a dedicated following.
For fans of modern metalcore pushing into darker, more experimental territory, this is one release worth locking into your calendar.
