After The Burial’s planned Australian return is off for 2026, with the loss of those dates also forcing the cancellation of their Japanese shows.
After The Burial have cancelled their upcoming Australian and Japanese appearances following Northlane’s tour postponement.
In their Instagram statement, the US metalcore band confirmed they would no longer perform in either country this year. Losing the Australian dates meant they could no longer make the Japanese shows work.
“Unfortunately, the loss of the Australian dates has made it logistically impossible for us to move forward with our scheduled shows in Japan,” they wrote.
The band had been booked to support Northlane on the Australian leg of the Anemoia tour, alongside Cenobia and Above, Below.
Destroy All Lines’ original itinerary, now marked postponed, listed six Australian stops between November 5 and 14. The run covered Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.
As BLUNT previously reported, Northlane are moving their Australian and New Zealand tour to May 2027. Guitarist Josh Smith is prioritising treatment and rehabilitation for worsening chronic health issues.
Northlane said existing tickets would remain valid, with replacement dates to follow. After The Burial have not confirmed whether they will join those rescheduled shows.
Their Japanese schedule included headline shows at Osaka’s Yogibo META VALLEY on November 19 and Nagoya’s Imaike CLUB 3STAR on November 20. They were also due to appear at True North Festival in Tokyo on November 22.

In separate cancellation notices, Japanese tour promoter SELEBRO and True North Festival’s organisers said they proposed alternative arrangements and held further discussions with the band’s team. Those efforts could not preserve the appearances.
After The Burial said they were disappointed to miss their return to both countries. They plan to come back next year with a new record, but their statement provides no replacement dates.
The band have directed affected ticket holders to check their emails for information from their ticketing providers.
For the cancelled Japanese headline shows, SELEBRO has announced refunds from 10am JST on October 28 until 11.59pm JST on November 11. Customers should follow eplus’s refund instructions.
True North Festival will proceed at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT on November 22. Its organisers say they will not issue refunds in connection with After The Burial’s withdrawal.
Northlane ticket holders should retain their tickets under that band’s postponement advice and follow their ticketing provider’s updates.
