Anthrax are turning up the heat ahead of the release of their first studio album in a decade, dropping a new single and video for ‘Everybody’s Got A Plan’.
The Anthrax track arrives as the New York thrash metal veterans count down to September 18, when Cursum Perficio will land through Nuclear Blast Records and Megaforce Records in North America.
‘Everybody’s Got A Plan’ comes armed with the kind of heavyweight riffing and attitude that have defined Anthrax throughout their 45 year career, its accompanying video (below) was largely filmed during the band’s July 7 performance in Lisbon, Portugal, where they were on the road supporting Iron Maiden.
Rather than opting for a polished narrative, the clip captures Anthrax in their natural environment, tearing through a show, messing around backstage and embracing life on the road. Black and white boxing footage adds another visual layer, tying directly into the song’s central message.

“‘Everybody’s Got a Plan’ has always been one of my favorite songs on Cursum Perficio,” Benante says. “The video basically shows the band on and off stage in a montage of video clips that kinda matches the velocity of the song. ‘Everybody’s got a plan/That’s until they get punched in the face’ is such a great line, and so true!”
Ian adds: “Most of this video was shot opening for [Iron] Maiden in Lisbon, Portugal at Estádio da Lu on July 7, 2026. We wanted to capture us having fun on tour and what better way to do that? That was a plan that didn’t end up with a punch in the face! Have fun watching my friends!”
Bello says: “This video is a great representation of a day in the life of Anthrax on tour.”
The new single follows ‘It’s For The Kids’ and ‘The Edge Of Perfection’, giving fans another preview of an album that has been years in the making.
Anthrax began seriously recording Cursum Perficio in 2022 at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, with Jay Ruston and the band handling production, the 11 track record follows 2016’s For All Kings, which broke into the Billboard 200 Top 10.
The band’s European run also saw U.K. session drummer Darby Todd step in for Charlie Benante during several shows after Benante injured his right hand. Todd has since shared drum cam footage of ‘Caught In A Mosh’ from the Rock Imperium festival in Spain:
