Avenged Sevenfold Bring Teenage America’s Got Talent Winner Onstage Ahead of Australian Tour

Sixteen-year-old Nene Royal joined her favourite band for two songs in Singapore, days before their first Australian shows in 12 years.

Imagine winning America’s Got Talent at 16, then getting invited onstage to perform with your favourite metal band.

That’s exactly what happened to Thai guitarist and singer Nene Royal, who joined Avenged Sevenfold for two songs during their concert in Singapore on Tuesday (13 October), just days before the band’s long-awaited return to Australia.

Royal performed ‘Bat Country’ and ‘Unholy Confessions’ alongside the American metal heavyweights at Singapore Indoor Stadium, with fan-filmed footage of both performances subsequently circulating online.

The teenager, who won the 2026 season of America’s Got Talent, had already opened the concert with a set featuring covers of Soundgarden, Muse and Rage Against The Machine. But it was her return to the stage alongside Avenged Sevenfold that marked a particularly memorable moment.

Royal has previously spoken about her admiration for the band, describing them as her favourite group. In an interview referenced by Metal Hammer, Royal explained that she had been approached about supporting Avenged Sevenfold in Singapore.

The invitation was particularly significant for the young musician, whose appearance on America’s Got Talent had already seen her share the stage with Linkin Park.

Her Singapore performance also comes at a significant moment for Avenged Sevenfold’s Australian fans. The band will begin their first Australian tour in 12 years tomorrow, Friday 16 October, performing at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

As previously announced, the tour continues through Brisbane and Melbourne before concluding in Auckland, New Zealand. Coheed And Cambria and Melbourne alternative metal outfit Thornhill will support the Australian and New Zealand dates.

The upcoming shows mark Avenged Sevenfold’s first Australian performances since 2014, when they appeared at Soundwave Festival and played headline sideshows.

While Royal’s Singapore appearance has attracted attention, there has been no confirmation that she will join the band for any of their upcoming Australian performances. For now, fans can watch footage of the teenager performing alongside her favourite band below.
