Avril Lavigne has launched her first-ever wine collab with Banshee Wines, debuting a limited-edition ‘Complicated’ pinot noir.
Avril Lavigne has announced that she’s getting into the wine business and has launched a new, limited-edition small batch Pinot Noir.
Named after the singer’s iconic 2002 track ‘Complicated’, Banshee Complicated is the singer’s first collaboration with Banshee Wines, which is part of the Foley Family Wines & Spirits company.
Lavigne’s Pinot Noir describes itself as a “light, velvety Pinot Noir layered with bright notes of cherry and raspberry, crafted to embody the confidence, complexity, and creativity that define both Avril and Banshee.”
In a statement, Lavigne shared more about her collab with Banshee bar.
“Over the last two years on my Greatest Hits Tour, I was rocking out with the Banshee bar set up backstage every night, ready for the afterparty, so teaming up on our own wine just felt right. I hope that everyone can crack open a bottle with their best friends, blast the music that started it all for me, and enjoy the moment. Life can be complicated, but a good glass of wine doesn’t have to be.”
Lavigne is among many other rock stars who have gotten into the wine business. Most famously, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan would open The Caduceus Cellars and Tasting Room in 2009 in his home state of Arizona. Rapper Snoop Dogg would also collab with Australian wine maker 19 Crimes, becoming the face of their Snoop Dogg Cali Red blend.
In honour of the launch, Banshee will also be making a $10,000 donation to the organisation She Is The Music, a nonprofit which focuses on increasing the number of women working in music across all fields.
Unfortunately, the wine is exclusively being sold by Banshee in the US and, as of writing, won’t be available in the Australian market. Why’d they have to make it so complicated?
