As speculated last week, AC/DC are reportedly planning a North American tour in 2025. Recent reports now suggest that Guns N’ Roses singer, Axl Rose will be set to join the band on the road.
Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach revealed that at least ten shows are planned for April and May next year. He also confirmed Rose’s involvement, although the extent of the Guns N’ Roses singers involvement has not yet been confirmed. Rose famously stepped in for Johnson during AC/DC’s “Rock or Bust” tour in 2016, when Johnson had to step down due to hearing issues.
Last week, it was reported that a concert was listed on the AC/DC Facebook page for April 11th, 2025. It was soon removed from Facebook. Bach’s comments seemingly confirm this was a legitimate tour date.
The news follows AC/DC’s successful “Power Up” European tour, which wrapped up in August 2024. The tour was the band’s first with their new lineup, featuring Brian Johnson, Angus and Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney. Longtime drummer Phil Rudd, who had rejoined the band for 2020’s Power Up, was missing from the lineup.
Rudd’s absence is due to his legal troubles following a 2015 conviction for threatening to kill a former employee and drug possession. Despite attempts to return, Rudd’s conviction prevented him from touring with AC/DC during their recent runs. While Rudd’s status for the upcoming tour remains uncertain, Axl Rose’s involvement has fans buzzing.
According to AlternativeNation.net, the band could announce the dates as early as tomorrow or Tuesday. Reknowned music journalist Mitch Lafon has also suggested that the opening act for the tour is a female fronted band. This has since created speculation that the band in question is American rock band, The Pretty Reckless.
The upcoming North American dates are expected to be announced soon. Stay tuned for official details.
