Briggs’ hardcore project BIG NOTER has just dropped the furious single ‘Talk Straight’.
Briggs’ hardcore project BIG NOTER has just released their second single ‘Talk Straight’, and it’s one for people who like to break stuff.
This is the second single from the Yorta Yorta icon’s latest project, following the similarly heavy ‘Identity’, which was released back in April via Island Records/UMA.
Produced by Nick Didia (Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam), Briggs described the track on social media as a cathartic anthem raging against fakery, stating: “This one’s for anyone sick of the bullshit. Built to hit.”
If you’re unfamiliar with the band, let’s get you up to speed. BIG NOTER is Briggs’ latest project, allowing him to tap into his hardcore and metal roots.
Briggs admitted that while it may seem like an unusual pivot, heavy music is where he feels most at home. “People might be surprised, but this is where I’m most at home – this is the sound I was raised on.”
BIG NOTER have just returned from a massive tour in Europe supporting Amyl & The Sniffers and Rage Against The Machine’s own Tom Morello at his Bluesfest 2025 sideshows. But they’re not slowing down as the hardcore group is gearing up to support Karnivool on their massive national tour.
Clearly, all this success is paying off, as BIG NOTER’s own headline show at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club in August has already sold out. They’ll also be joining Suicidal Tendencies on their Aussie tour next year.
While the band have yet to officially confirm when their debut album will drop, we can be sure it’s on its way soon.
