Black Veil Brides have released ‘Revenger’, a left field collaboration with Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, pulled from their upcoming album ‘Vindicate’, landing May 8th via Spinefarm.
It’s the seventh track unveiled from the record so far, and it leans into something darker than your standard revenge fantasy.

A twisted take on justice
Lyrically, ‘Revenger’ doesn’t glorify payback, it questions it, the track follows a character convinced that vengeance equals justice, even as that belief starts to fracture.
“I have always been interested in the sort of ethical dilemma that we have culturally of cheering for justice. I thought it would be an interesting exercise to write lyrics from the perspective of someone who is trying to seek out the ultimate form of justice.
Because I was writing from someone else’s voice, this felt like the kind of song that would be best served by having someone else’s voice on the song. So, we brought in Robb Flynn of Machine Head. The reason he came to mind first was of course his voice, tonality and style I thought was perfect for this. He is also someone who was one of the first real defenders of Black Veil Brides. In the early days when we were getting absolutely sh*t on by every other metal band, Robb Flynn and Machine Head stood up for us and said positive things about us and has maintained that for years and years.
I think it’s one of my favorite songs on the record.”
That context adds weight, this isn’t just a feature for the sake of it, it’s tied to the band’s history and the reception they’ve fought through.
‘Vindicate’ shaping up as a bigger swing
With ‘Vindicate’ just weeks away, Black Veil Brides are framing this record as one of their most ambitious yet, from theatrical openers to heavier cuts like ‘Revenger’, the band are stretching their sound without ditching the drama that built their following.
Previous singles like ‘Bleeders’, ‘Hallelujah’, and ‘Certainty’ have already hinted at that balance between evolution and familiarity.
Back on the road
The release lands as the band prepare to hit the road for a North American headline tour, kicking off April 25th and running through to late May, support will come from From Ashes To New, TX2, and As December Falls.
At this stage, Black Veil Brides aren’t trying to rewrite who they are, ‘Revenger’ makes that clear, instead, they’re tightening the screws on what they’ve always done, while bringing in voices that actually mean something to the story.
