Blink-182 Are Working On A New Album, Says Travis Barker

Share

The revelation came during Barker‘s recent appearance on The New York TimesPopcast, where the drummer discussed his current projects ahead of the release of his new documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.

Asked what he was currently working on, Barker revealed that another Blink-182 record is now in progress (per NME).

“I’m starting a couple of other projects, like producing projects, working on the next Blink album.”

Barker was then asked whether the album was being worked on this year or whether fans could expect the process to begin in 2027.

“Working on the Blink album this year.”

That puts a new Blink-182 record firmly on the band’s current radar, although there’s no indication yet of when fans might actually hear it.

Following 2023’s One More Time..

The forthcoming album will follow 2023’s One More Time…, which marked the return of the band’s classic lineup of Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge. It was their first album together in more than a decade and arrived after years of speculation surrounding DeLonge’s return.

The trio subsequently took One More Time… around the world, with their most recent major touring run being last year’s Missionary Impossible tour.

Blink-182 have also recently revisited their back catalogue, releasing a 20th anniversary edition of Take Off Your Pants And Jacket featuring six additional tracks.

Barker’s comments suggest the band’s creative relationship remains active, even as the drummer continues juggling a growing list of projects outside Blink-182.

He’s also producing and playing drums on the upcoming Alkaline Trio album, adding another major project to his already packed schedule.

The news comes just days before Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear arrives on Hulu and Disney+ this Friday, August 13th.

The documentary looks back across Barker’s life and career, including the 2008 plane crash that left him with severe burns and a lengthy recovery.

For now, Blink-182 fans have one particularly big takeaway: new music is officially being worked on.
