Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes has announced his new live production company, Patient Zero, following its debut at EDM producer Illenium’s Las Vegas Sphere show.
Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has officially launched his new live production company, Patient Zero, following a live debut at EDM producer Illenium‘s Las Vegas Sphere show.
Sykes took to social media to make the announcement, writing that the “next-generation” company would be “focused on building immersive, narrative-driven experiences”.
And if you’ve seen footage from Illenium’s show, it’s hard to argue they didn’t succeed in doing just that.
During the producer’s set, Illenium would perform the track ‘Slave to the Rithm’ and feature animations that definitely have that BMTH style.
According to a press release shared after Patient Zero’s debut, the statement wrote that the Illenium’s show set “a new benchmark in hybrid live performance, combining cinematic storytelling, real-time animation, and a large-scale audiovisual design”.
Sykes himself served as the show’s executive producer, helping to steer the live concept and creative direction. Per the statement, he brought “an ambitious vision that merges the emotional intensity of both artists with the full technical capabilities” of the Sphere.
“The production introduces a distinct visual universe designed specifically for the format, pushing beyond traditional concert frameworks into fully immersive world-building,” the description added.
For fans of Bring Me The Horizon, it should come as no surprise that Sykes has an affinity for creating impeccable live visuals that enhance the atmosphere and immersion of a show.
During their most recent NX_GN WRLD Tour, Sykes and company’s performance was filled with stunning visuals to enhance the particular story the band were telling on tour. The A.I character E.V.E would frequently appear throughout the show, communicating with the audience and setting up fan favourite tracks, building an impressive, cohesive setlist.
With this announcement, one can only hope Sykes is looking to play to his strengths and further build on the band’s remarkable live experience.
