40 years and counting
With more than 40 years of music behind them, the band have plenty of material to draw from, but you can expect a set loaded with classic anthems including “Sleeping My Day Away” and “Laugh ‘n’ a 1/2”, alongside favourites such as “Grow or Pay”, “Bad Craziness”, “Everything Glows” and “Girl Nation”.
And if you’ve never caught D-A-D live, this tour looks like a pretty good excuse to change that.
The band have built a reputation for turning their shows into full-volume celebrations, combining massive riffs and hooks with the kind of larger-than-life stage presence that has kept them touring for generations.
“The crowd are already in the palm of Jesper’s hand… Jesper engages us all, gets us singing and generally leads the fun,” wrote The Rockpit, while Hear 2 Zen previously summed up bassist Stig Pedersen’s performance with: “Every slap, every riff, every stage strut—it’s pure entertainment.”
That’s very much the D-A-D experience: technically accomplished rock played with a sense of fun, theatricality and absolutely zero interest in standing still.
The band’s longevity is particularly impressive in an era where many of their contemporaries have either slowed down or disappeared entirely. D-A-D, however, continue to deliver the kind of energetic live show that has earned them a fiercely loyal following across multiple generations.
As Rocknytt put it, D-A-D are “A Danish energy pill, delivered with a twinkle in the eye.”
For Australian and New Zealand fans, The Very Best Of tour offers the chance to experience that energy across a set designed to celebrate the band’s biggest songs and fan favourites.
