Former As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis is facing renewed scrutiny following a nearly four hour interview with his ex-wife Dany Ciara, who has publicly detailed a series of serious allegations surrounding their relationship.

Appearing on the Brutally Speaking podcast, Ciara shared what she described as a rapid and intense courtship that escalated into infidelity, emotional manipulation, physical intimidation, and coercive behaviour.
Host Jon Beatty framed the episode as a survivor focused discussion rather than an investigative confrontation, with Ciara’s account representing her most comprehensive public statement to date.
According to Ciara, the relationship began when she contacted Lambesis via Instagram as a longtime fan, she said events moved at a relentless pace, culminating in a Las Vegas wedding just weeks after meeting.
“We got married two weeks after meeting each other… on the way to California, we both were joking, but not joking, about getting married in Vegas. And we just ended up doing that.”
She described the early months as euphoric but unstable.
“It just felt like I was on such a cloud nine… which it was.”
Ciara said the relationship shifted dramatically around six months in, when she discovered Lambesis had been unfaithful.
“I just remember that was the worst day of my life.”
Despite this, she said she stayed after Lambesis attributed his behaviour to unresolved trauma and expressed a desire to work on the marriage, what followed, she claims, was an increasingly volatile period marked by emotional control and blame.
“He wanted me to heal in the time frame that he felt was acceptable… He even told me that like cheating hurts him more than it would the average person.”
Further allegations
Ciara further alleged physical intimidation, surveillance within their home, and the use of selectively edited video footage to portray her as abusive, she claimed this material was distributed to band members via an email account she believes Lambesis created under a false identity.
One of the most serious allegations involved what Ciara described as AI-generated sexual images found on Lambesis’ phone.
“It was a picture of… a kid… making out with an adult woman.”
Ciara also made allegations of animal abuse, claiming Lambesis harmed and threatened her dogs as a form of punishment, including offering money to have one removed.
She said police were repeatedly called to the home by neighbours and that she often attempted to shield Lambesis from consequences.
Now, Ciara says she is speaking out to reclaim control of her story.
“I just want to speak my truth and move on with my life… I’m not gonna be scared anymore.”
