A few familiar faces show up in a new TV spot for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
So far Daredevil is the only Marvel Netflix series to get, well, reborn on Disney+. For sure all the others – Iron Fist, Power Man, et al – are on Disney+, but only the Man Without Fear has gotten the reboot treatment, which makes him a kind of bridge between the mainstream Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And across that bridge comes Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, our favourite deadpan, PTSD-addled PI who, like Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher last season, will be playing a major supporting part in Daredevil: Born again Season 2. We’re apparently getting a Punisher one hour special out of Disney+ – could this spell the same for Ms. Jones? Let’s take a look…
Daredevil: Born Again TV Spot
What’s the plot?
As you may recall from last season, our man Matt Murdock briefly retired from vigilantism following the murder of his best bud and business partner, Foggy Nelson, was murdered. But he soon got the horns again when hiss old arch-enemy, Wilson Fisk, got himself elected mayor of New York City, which seems… of the moment. We wrapped up with New York under martial law and Daredevil on the run.
Now, as for Season 2, as the official synopsis tells us:
Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. But, beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.

- Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil: two-fisted blind ninja vigilante by night, Catholic guilt-wracked lawyer by day.
- Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin: ruthless crime lord and cultured aesthete, now mayor of New York City.
- Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, a therapist and Matt’s new love interest.
- Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page: former reporter and Murdock’s friend and partner at the Nelson, Murdock & Page.
- Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, although probably in flashbacks given he was killed in the first season. But nobody stays dead forever in comics…
- Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter, AKA Bullseye: former FBI agent turned psychotic assassin.
- Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera, Fisk’s mayoral campaign director.
- Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Murdock’s new law partner at the law firm Murdock & McDuffie.
- Genneya Walton as BB Urich, a journalist and the niece of Ben Urich, who was killed by Fisk.
- Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman:, Fisk’s right-hand man[20]
- Clark Johnson as Cherry, an investigator at Murdock & McDuffie.
- Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, Fisk’s protégé.
- Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson’s wife, who took over his criminal empire while he was away.
- Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, AKA Swordsman: a wealthy socialite who is a masked, sword-wielding vigilante.
- Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones: A former superhero turned private detective.
When’s it out?
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 hits Disney+ on March 24.
What’s the vibe?
I’m just hoping The Punisher comes back. Jon Bernthal’s participation has yet to be confirmed.
