Dayseeker are stepping into their darkest era yet. The Southern California post-hardcore favourites have released a visualiser for their new single ‘Bloodlust’, taken from their upcoming album ‘Creature In The Black Night’, which arrives 24 October via Spinefarm.
Dayseeker have shared their new track ‘Bloodlust’ ahead of their upcoming album Creature In The Black of Night, releasing 24 October via Spinefarm. The new track is a swirling storm of eerie atmosphere and sharpened riffs, with vocalist Rory Rodriguez explaining:
“‘Bloodlust’ is one of the more eerie and chaotic tracks on the record. It’s about people in your life who want to metaphorically drain the blood from you – those you can’t trust and don’t belong in your life.”
You can listen to the new track below.
Produced by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Silent Planet) and mixed by Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Lorna Shore), the album promises to be Dayseeker’s most immersive effort yet. While not a concept album, it leans into horror aesthetics, weaving Grim Reaper iconography and shadowy atmospheres into its core.
“There’s a horror-inspired vibe that took hold early on,” Rodriguez said. “It wasn’t planned. But once it started showing up in the songs, we leaned into it.”
In a statement following the release of their first single from the album, ‘Pale Moonlight’, Rodriguez opened up about themes of the new record and hinted at a darker, sinister sound. “This album is about the personal issues I’ve dealt with, trying to navigate life as our band becomes a little more successful,” shared Rodriguez. “I’m alive and functioning as a human, but maybe not experiencing and feeling things as much as I should.”

Fans expecting another melancholy descent may be caught off guard; the band have gone heavier, bolder, and more unflinching than ever. “There was this idea that we’d get more and more commercial over time,” Rodriguez admitted. “But I think the opposite happened – we’re riffing more, I’m screaming more. And it feels good. It feels honest.”
