DragonForce & Nekrogoblikon Have Teamed Up For A New Tie-In Song With VR Game ‘Beat Saber’

DragonForce & Nekrogoblikon have teamed up to release the new track, ‘Dragon Smash Goblin’, made in collaboration with the VR rhythm game Beat Saber.

In a collab you probably never would have guessed, power metal group DragonForce and the goblin-fronted melodic death metal group Nekrogoblikon have teamed up to release the new track, ‘Dragon Smash Goblin’.

The collab comes as part of the newly released 8th original soundtrack for the VR rhythm game Beat Saber.

Of course, DragonForce are no strangers to appearing in rhythm games, having made their name giving Guitar Hero players carpal tunnel and a god complex with ‘Through The Fire And Flame’.

The band would also contribute the song ‘Power Of The Sabre Blade’ for Beat Saber‘s sixth soundtrack, which was also a serviceable banger from the group.

‘Dragon Smash Goblin’ itself is a fairly standard duet from the two metal groups. DragonForce shreds its way through the song, as singer Marc Hudson promises to kick goblin-frontman John Goblikon’s head in. Goblikon offers up their gnarly screams in response for the verses of the track.

Beat Saber‘s eighth soundtrack has fully dropped today, and features five other intense tracks to slash your way through. The soundtrack comprises a wide range of genre’s spanning from the blistering DragonForce song to the violin of Lindsey Stirling.

Tracks ‘Overload’ and ‘STARLIGHT’ (featuring singer juu) were composed alongside Beat Saber players to make for a better gameplay experience. Can’t say this is true from personal experience, but a playthrough of the track seems to make it look like a challenging one to go through, but would eventually send you into a zen-like flow state.
