DragonForce’s Marc Hudson Just Made His Voice Acting Debut In The Hit Anime ‘Dan Da Dan’

DragonForce frontman Marc Hudsan has shown up in the anime Dan Da Dan to perform ‘Exorcism Song’ in its latest episode.

Get ready for the absurd, because the action comedy anime Dan Da Dan has enlisted the vocal talents of DragonForce’s frontman Marc Hudsan in its latest episode.

For anyone out of the loop, Dan Da Dan is one of the hottest-rated anime out there, becoming one of the most-streamed series of 2024.

The series is a bit hard to explain due to its admittedly very absurd nature. Dan Da Dan features two teenagers: Ken Takakura, who believes in aliens and Momo Ayase, a spiritual medium who believes in ghosts.

After a bet goes wrong, and the ghost of an evil granny steals Ken’s balls (I’m not exaggerating), and aliens abduct Momo, the two pair up to fight off extraterrestrial forces and the paranormal. But really, at its heart, it’s an unlikely love story between Momo and Ken.

Hudson is featured in the English dub version of season two’s sixth episode ‘We Became A Family’. The description of the episode reads: “The Hayashi musicians arrive and begin an energetic exorcism performance. But just when the ritual is about to succeed, Jiji makes a surprising plea.”

The DragonForce singer shared a statement ahead of the episode’s release, writing:

“I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I had the incredible opportunity to be a voice actor in Dan Da Dan—one of my all-time favourite anime series! I play the role of the vocalist for Hayashi in Season 2, Episode 6, and getting to perform the exorcism song as part of the character was an absolute blast.”

“After making Starbound Stories, an album deeply inspired by anime, I was so happy to be invited to actually sing on an anime – it felt like everything had come full circle. This show is wild, creative, and full of heart, and it was a real privilege to be a part of it. As the vocalist of DragonForce, I’ve had the chance to perform on some amazing songs and albums, but this was a whole new and exciting experience. I can’t wait for everyone to see the episode!”

Dan Da Dan season 2 is now streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
