Fat Dog have unleashed new single ‘Call It What You Want’, giving us another taste of their incoming second album ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’ before the London wrecking crew make their first trip to Australia this December.
Due October 2nd via Domino, ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’ follows Fat Dog’s 2024 debut ‘WOOF.’ and appears determined to push their already difficult to pin down sound into even stranger territory.
‘Call It What You Want’ certainly doesn’t waste much time choosing a lane. Post-punk abrasion collides with rave synths and the kind of frantic momentum that has made Fat Dog’s live shows such a spectacle.
Behind that manic exterior, however, sits something considerably more personal.
“That’s me looking at people in my family and their problems and thinking, ‘Is it gonna be the same for me? Is it in my DNA?’” frontman Joe Love explains.
The track is the fourth single lifted from ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’, following ‘Go F*** Urself’, ‘Cancel Me (I’m Tired)’ and ‘Sh*t Love’.

Fat Dog Are Finally Coming To Australia
The timing gets particularly interesting for Australian fans, with Fat Dog confirming their debut Australian tour for December.
The run begins at Brisbane’s Crowbar before the band heads to Meredith Music Festival and then takes on headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Anyone wondering what sort of mess they’re walking into can check out the live video for ‘Call It What You Want’, captured at Fat Dog’s Woofstock pop-up in Bermondsey last week. Around 500 fans descended on the outdoor show, providing a suitably unruly preview of what Australia can expect.
The new album promises to be just as restless. Across ten tracks, Fat Dog are throwing electro-punk, rave, psychedelia, strings and even flashes of country into the blender rather than sanding down the edges that made them interesting in the first place.
If ‘Call It What You Want’ is any indication, album two isn’t about Fat Dog becoming easier to categorise. It sounds like they’re making that job even harder.
