Share

Fleshwater have released their second single, ‘Last Escape’, for their sophomore album 2000: In Search of Endless Sky.

Fleshwater has released a second single, ‘Last Escape’, to promote their sophomore album, 2000: In Search of Endless Sky, set for release on September 5, 2025, via Closed Casket Activities.

Their previous single, ‘Jetpack‘, was a bleaker track from the band. However, their latest release, ‘Last Escape’, is a stellar blend of hardcore and moody shoegaze, merging heavy riffs with pristine and soaring harmonies.

Guitarist Anthony DiDio also steps up in the vocal department in this single, sharing the spotlight equally with Marissa Shirar. David Haik of Pianos Become The Teeth also plays drums on the track, layering an energetic rhythm that’ll have you unconsciously moving your head.

The video shows the band performing in Bradley, Illinois’ Northfield Square Mall, which has been abandoned in favour of a proposed water park.

You can watch the video below.

Following the release of their debut 2022 album, We’re Not Here To Be Loved, the band launched into a busy touring cycle. The success of their album would lead to them touring with the likes of The Mars Volta, CHAT PILE, and Deftones. They would even visit our humble Aussie venues in 2024, bringing Brisbane’s very own Sunbleached along for the ride.

As a result, their new album was recorded in multiple locations, hitting up studios wherever they could. All the vocals on the new track were self-recorded, while guitars and bass were tracked at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, with Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks. Drums were recorded at Mag Pie Recording in Baltimore, Maryland, with Kevin Berntsein.

Here’s the tracklist for their upcoming album, 2000: In Search of Endless Sky, below:

  4. Last Escape
  5. Be Your Best
