Foo Fighters Share Their Hard-Hitting New Single ‘Of All People’

The Foo Fighters have shared their second single, ‘Of All People’, taken from their upcoming 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy.

Legendary rockers The Foo Fighters have dropped a second single from their upcoming studio album, Your Favorite Toy, and it’s another welcome banger from the group.

The track is another return to form for the group, who aren’t shying away from mature storytelling in rock. In an interview with The Guardian, frontman Dave Grohl would reveal this track was inspired by an encounter with a notorious drug dealer in the 90s who was known to supply people with heroin.

“I hadn’t seen them in 30 years, and they’re alive, healthy and sober,” Grohl said. “I was so happy that this person survived, while at the same time, I was devastated, because of all of the people I know that we’ve lost to exactly that drug. I was so fucking angry, but at the same time so grateful to see them alive and well. Again, a conversation within myself, feeling so conflicted and divided. When I read the lyrics back, I mentioned them to my therapist: Is this survivor’s guilt?”

Your Favorite Toy marks the first release with new drummer Ilan Rubin, who famously replaced touring drummer Josh Freese in a notorious scandal last year. In a funny twist, Freese rejoined Nine Inch Nails after his sudden firing from the Foo Fighters, replacing Rubin on their most recent tour.

Speaking of tours, The Foo Fighters are set to return to Australia following a one-off performance in Hobart, Tasmania in January this year. The band are expected to return in November this year, kicking off their tour at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

With the upcoming album shaping up to be one of their best yet, you’d be a Foo(l) to miss out.
