Glen Powell Has Money And Murder On His Mind In The How To Make A Killing Trailer

Share

The star of The Running Man certainly knows how to make a killing in this upcoming black comedy.

You’re never poor as long as you have family, or so I read somewhere, but this impressively dark satire looks set to argue the exact opposite point: with a little less family around, perhaps you could have a lot more money.

That’s the tack Glen Powell‘s character seems to be taking here, as he thins the familial herd a bit to clear his path to a multi-billion dollar inheritance. Yeah, that “b” changes the equation a bit, doesn’t it?

How To Make A Killing Trailer

What’s the plot?

As the official synopsis tells us:

Disowned at birth by his obscenely wealthy family, blue-collar Becket Redfellow (Glen Powell) will stop at nothing to reclaim his inheritance, no matter how many relatives stand in his way.

…which ain’t much, but “working class guy sticks it to the elites” is a concept that evokes no small amount of sympathy from me. And hell, it’s a key part of Glen Powell’s brand at this stage.

It’s worth noting that How To Make A Killing is a riff on the old Ealing banger, Kind Hearts And Coronets, widely regarded as one of the greatest comedies of all time. This take comes to us from writer and director John Patton Ford, who gave us Emily The Criminal a few years back, so that’s a good sign.

Who’s in it?

Glen Powell is Becket Redfellow; Margaret Qualley is Julia, Becket’s childhood friend; Jessica Henwick is Ruth, Becket’s girlfriend; while Bill Camp, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, Ed Harris, Bianca Amato, Raff Law, and Sean Cameron Michael round out the cast.

When’s it out?

No exact date for this one yet, but first quarter of 2026 is a safe bet.

What’s the vibe?

Looks pretty decent!
