Godsmack have announced a new live album, ‘Live At Mohegan Sun,’ capturing the band’s explosive October 26, 2024 performance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut.
The Godsmack record arrives May 1st via Primary Wave and is available to pre order now, recorded during a sold out hometown adjacent show in New England, the album documents a particularly emotional night for the band.
The concert marked the final performance of Godsmack’s long running lineup, featuring frontman Sully Erna, guitarist Tony Rombola, bassist Robbie Merrill, and drummer Shannon Larkin, after Rombola and Larkin announced their retirement (per press release).

Rather than feeling like a farewell, the night unfolded as a full blown celebration of the band’s three decade run, from the opening punch of ‘Surrender’ to the closing roar of ‘I Stand Alone,’ the recording captures Godsmack’s live reputation in full force, Erna wasted no time setting the tone early in the set.
“You guys have no idea how special a show this is for you tonight. Are we ready to f**king party?! Are we ready to go faster, louder, harder?”
You can now get a preview of the album with the newly released live version of ‘When Legends Rise.’, reflecting on the footage, Erna admitted the performance still hits him hard emotionally.
“I’ve cried several times watching this thing, but It’s a happy emotion, filled with a sense of accomplishment.”

Not the end of Godsmack
While the Mohegan Sun performance closed the book on the band’s classic lineup, Erna insists the band itself isn’t going anywhere:
“It was just closing one chapter and welcoming whatever the new version of our career may be.”
That next chapter begins with the Rise of Rock World Tour 2026, where Godsmack will hit the road with Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy, Erna says the lineup of the tour was chosen deliberately:
“I haven’t been this excited about a tour in a really long time, simply because the bands that we chose to take out with us are real rock bands that have real musicians that play real instruments.”
“Between Godsmack and Stone Temple Pilots, it’s going to be a hit factory.”
Alongside the new live album, the band will also mark a major milestone this year with the 25th anniversary reissue of ‘Awake.’, for now though ‘Live At Mohegan Sun’ stands as a powerful snapshot of a band closing one era with the volume turned all the way up.
