Hollywood Undead have released a new single, ‘1×1’, and it comes armed with one of metal’s most recognisable riffs.
The track, released via Sumerian Records, flips the legendary guitar line from Slayer’s ‘Raining Blood’ into a pounding rap-metal anthem that feels built for festival stages, Hollywood Undead have never been shy about leaning into heavy influences.
On ‘1×1’, they take that approach even further, the track slows down Slayer’s iconic riff and wraps it in thick beats, sharp rap verses, and a chorus designed to hit hard, produced by Matt Good (known for work with Skrillex and The Haunt), the song blends nu-metal grit with the band’s signature mix of hip-hop swagger and arena ready hooks.

A Statement Of Resilience
Speaking about the track, the band explained the message driving the new single (per press release):
“This song is about resilience. People are always going to doubt you or try to bring you down, but the point is getting back up every time and reminding them you’re still here, and that you can’t be replaced.”

That defiant energy runs through the entire track, the chorus hits with a blunt line: “one by one they fall, let the reaper take them all.” It feels like a victory lap for a band that has spent nearly two decades carving out its own lane between rap, rock, and metal.

Hollywood Undead’s numbers tell part of that story, the band has racked up more than 3.2 billion streams across platforms, alongside over one billion YouTube views and 4.1 million monthly Spotify listeners.
Momentum From A Huge 2025
‘1×1’ arrives after a packed year on the road, in 2025 the band hit major festival stages including Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, and Louder Than Life, alongside a co-headline tour with Tech N9ne.
They also joined Falling In Reverse for the ‘God Is A Weapon’ tour, playing arenas and amphitheatres across the world, the new single follows ‘Hollywood Forever’, their 2024 debut on Sumerian Records, and ‘SAVIOR’, released in mid 2025, while ‘SAVIOR’ leaned into darker emotional territory, ‘1×1’ swings the pendulum back toward confrontation and swagger.
With the band currently working on their ninth studio album, ‘1×1’ suggests Hollywood Undead are doubling down on the loud, defiant side of their sound.
