Melbourne’s own I Built The Sky has announced an exclusive headline performance at Howler on October 31st, with mastermind Rohan Stevenson set to celebrate both the band’s latest chapter and one of its defining releases.
Rather than delivering a standard greatest hits set, Stevenson and company will perform Promise Me You’ll Thrive and The Zenith Rise in their entirety, giving fans the chance to experience two of the project’s most celebrated albums from beginning to end.

Rather than delivering a standard greatest hits set, Stevenson and company will perform Promise Me You’ll Thrive and The Zenith Rise in their entirety, giving fans the chance to experience two of the project’s most celebrated albums from beginning to end.
Released earlier this year, Promise Me You’ll Thrive has become one of the biggest success stories in Australia’s progressive scene. The album debuted at No. 4 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, climbed to No. 3 on the AIR Charts, while also reaching the top spot across multiple Bandcamp categories including Instrumental, Djent and Instrumental Metal.
It also earned a four star review from The Australian, with Stevenson recently recognised as Australian Musician’s Musician of the Month.
For Stevenson, the upcoming performance is more than just another hometown gig:

The night will also feature Adelaide progressive artist Keyan, whose blend of modern djent and progressive metal makes him a fitting addition to the lineup.
Over the past decade, Stevenson has quietly built I Built The Sky into one of Australia’s premier instrumental acts. Remaining completely independent, the project has amassed more than 70 million streams while touring Europe, the UK and India and sharing stages with heavyweights including Periphery, Polyphia, Monuments, Plini, Intervals and The Dillinger Escape Plan.
For Melbourne fans, this will be the only opportunity to catch the full album performance live.
