Swedish metalcore outfit Imminence have officially lifted the curtain on their upcoming sixth studio album, Axis Mundi, confirming the record will arrive on October 2nd, 2026 via Sumerian Records.
Building anticipation for the release, Imminence have released two new tracks, “False Light” and “Crestfallen”, expanding on the story first introduced with previous single “The Sword That Never Bends.” While the songs sit at opposite ends of the sonic spectrum, together they showcase the emotional depth and cinematic scope that defines Axis Mundi.
“False Light” delivers one of the heaviest moments in Imminence’s catalogue, Eddie Berg’s fierce growled vocals drive the track forward, while subtle violin passages and clean vocal melodies provide moments of tension before the next wave of aggression crashes in.
The release is accompanied by a cinematic music video that continues the visual world surrounding the album:
By comparison, “Crestfallen” explores a far more restrained atmosphere. Layered electronic textures, sweeping orchestration and Berg’s signature violin work create a haunting backdrop for his clean vocal performance.
Although considerably softer in approach, the song still carries an underlying sense of weight through distorted ambience and restrained screams beneath the surface.
Self produced by the band, Axis Mundi was created alongside engineer Henrik Udd and producer Drew Fulk, with the album promising to further evolve Imminence’s blend of metalcore, orchestral arrangements and cinematic storytelling. The record follows a mythological narrative set between life and death, exploring themes of suffering, redemption and the search for hope through darkness.

Imminence ‘Axis Mundi’ track list:
1. Twisting In The Wind
2. The Sword That Never Bends
3. Devil May Try
4. Crestfallen
5. False Light
6. If Not Now, When
7. Didn’t Think About You (Lately)
8. Leviathan
9. Shed Your Skin
10. Power Divine
11. Exodus
Speaking about the decision to release the two tracks together, guitarist Harald Barrett said:
“Duality has always been at the heart of Imminence. Our musical expression is a conversation between darkness and light, violence and beauty, despair and hope.
“‘False Light’ and ‘Crestfallen’ embody those opposing forces more clearly than anything we’ve released before. They’re radically different in sound and emotion, but together they tell a single story. That’s why it felt important to present them side by side as we unveil Axis Mundi. Our new album is not meant to be experienced from one perspective alone. It’s a journey through every extreme that defines what Imminence is, and these two songs are the perfect gateway into that world.”
Axis Mundi arrives on October 2nd, with pre-orders and pre-saves available now.
