Emerald Whisper
The announcement arrives alongside the release of Emerald Whisper (below), Inertia’s first new music in two years and a track that signals an ambitious new era for the quartet, combining emotionally charged melodies with punishing heaviness and cinematic production, the single further expands the band’s evolving sound while retaining the intensity that has built their loyal following.
Over the past few years, Inertia have quietly established themselves as a force within Australia’s heavy music landscape. Their debut album Second Shadow introduced a sound that refuses to stay within traditional genre boundaries, pulling influence from contemporary metalcore while incorporating elements of pop, soul and alternative music.
That approach has earned the band comparisons to acts such as Loathe, Spiritbox and Thornhill, while also helping them stand apart from their peers through a willingness to embrace melody and atmosphere alongside crushing riffs.
Their reputation as a live act has continued to grow following appearances at Good Things Festival, a national support slot with Poppy and regional dates alongside Northlane.
Combined with millions of streams worldwide and support opportunities with artists including Polaris, Dayseeker, Bury Tomorrow, Holding Absence, Caskets, Thy Art Is Murder and Thornhill, Inertia have steadily built momentum both at home and abroad.
