Iron Maiden Scrap Planned 2027 Touring Break, Announce Final Run For Your Lives Shows

Iron Maiden have added 16 North American shows to their anniversary tour, reversing plans to take 2027 off after a change of heart on the road.

Iron Maiden were supposed to spend 2027 off the road. Instead, they’re extending their Run For Your Lives tour into another year, with 16 North American performances announced on Friday, 16 October.

In the band’s official announcement, bassist Steve Harris said the response to their recent US and Canadian shows prompted the group to reconsider. The new dates will reach regions missed on that run, particularly the northwest and southeast.

“We’ve been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much,” Harris said, explaining that the band discussed returning before agreeing to more shows.

Harris had already made his own preference clear. In a Classic Rock interview published in June, he said his bandmates wanted to take 2027 off while he wanted to keep playing. His latest statement describes the return as a collective decision.

That decision also moves a finish line Maiden had explicitly announced. In February’s Japanese tour announcement, the band identified their 24–25 November 2026 Yokohama concerts as the finale and said they would then stay offstage until at least 2028.

The additional leg begins in Tacoma, Washington, on 14 April. As JamBase reports, Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age will support the non-festival dates, before Maiden headline Sonic Temple in Columbus on 14 May and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City on 16 May.

For Australian fans, the extension follows the November visit with Megadeth that BLUNT previously covered. That itinerary takes in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, including Maiden’s first headline stadium shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

The anniversary production revisits their first nine albums. When announcing the Australian shows, manager Rod Smallwood said a number of songs would receive their final live performances on this tour. The extension gives North American audiences another chance to catch that material after the Australian visit, although the band has not identified which songs will be retired.

The newly announced endpoint is Boardwalk Rock on 16 May 2027. Maiden say these will be the final Run For Your Lives performances, bringing the tour to a projected 107 shows across 36 countries.
