Jack Osbourne and his wife, Aree Gearheart, have named their new baby after the late Godfather of Metal.
Ozzy Osbourne‘s son, Jack Osbourne, has welcomed a brand new baby girl into the world, and the little bundle of joy’s name will be very familiar to fans of his late father.
Ozzy Matilda Osbourne was born on March 5 to Jack’s wife, Aree Gearheart. Jack and his mother, Sharon, announced the birth on March 11 via that most traditional of media, a joint Instagram post.
As you no doubt noted, little Ozzy was born at 7:49 a.m. weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 19 inches. And she’s just cute as a button, in that wrinkly way all babies are when they’re fresh out of the oven. The plush bat is a nice touch, too – I wonder if she’ll try to gum its fuzzy head off?
Ozzy is Jack’s fifth child, and joins elder siblings Pearl, Andy and Minnie with his first wife, Lisa Stelly, and Maple with Aree.
Ozzy’s birth comes almost eight months after the death of her grandfather, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away following a heart attack on 22 July 2025 at the age of 76. The elder Osbourne’s death came after a long period of physical decline that saw the revered Black Sabbath frontman retire from live performance mere weeks prior to his death. His final show with Sabbath, the Back to the Beginning concert in Birmingham, England, took place on July 5, with Ozzy, unable to stand due to the effects of Parkinson’s disease, performed while sitting on an ornate black throne. The concert, which attracted over 40,000 punters and 5.8 million streaming views, raised over US$11 million for Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s.
We wish Ozzy and her family all the best.
