Jelly Roll Reveals That He Had A “Horrible” Time In Australia & Couldn’t Wait To Leave

Jelly Roll has revealed that his recent Australian tour took a heavy emotional toll, claiming he had a “horrible” time and “just [wanted] to go home”.

Jelly Roll has shared in a new interview that he had a less-than-pleasant time during his recent Australian tour, revealing that he couldn’t wait to leave.

The country-rap star, real name Jason Bradley DeFord, had first revealed that the Australian tour had been an unpleasant experience during an interview last week on the No Filter with Kate Langbroek podcast. In the podcast, the 40-year-old singer would share that he had almost reached his breaking point while on tour.

“I’m falling apart. It’s a horrible week. I’m doing the worst mentally I’ve done in a long time,” Jelly Roll would share.

“I’m really far from home, and it’s really hitting me that I’m really far from home, like in an anxious way… I’m not having fun, and I want to go home.”

Jelly Roll would also go on to say that the logistics of the trip had left the singer feeling isolated as he was left alone in hotel rooms instead of his usual tour bus setup.

“I’m having to be super isolated. I don’t like it,” he revealed.

“I’m spending a lot of time in my hotel room by myself, just in my head. I don’t like it. I miss my family a ton.”

While he had been going through a routine of breathing exercises to calm himself down and manage a stomach illness, he had to admit that he just wanted to go back home to Tennessee.

“Everybody wants to go home when they’re sick. That’s just in us,” he said. “I just don’t feel good, so I just want to go home.”

Previously, the country singer had spent years talking about his dream of getting to play Australia. In August, the “I Am Not Okay’ singer would announce that he would embark on his very own The Down Under tour, while also headlining Harvest Rock and Strummingbird Festival.

The artist had intended to perform a final concert in Auckland, New Zealand on November 8, however had to cancel at the last minute due to an undisclosed illness.

“I just can’t shake it. It breaks my heart, I’ve probably missed three shows in the last decade,” he shared on Instagram Stories (via Billboard). ”I pride myself on showing up no matter what. Just couldn’t do it this time. Please forgive me.”

While in Sydney, the artist would share that he had a negative experience visiting a Louis Vuitton store following a performance at Qudos Bank Arena on November 4. He would claim that staff at the luxury boutique reacted to him with hostility as soon as he entered.

“The Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were [gonna] come in and rob that place. I have never been looked at more like a crim,” Jelly Roll said in an Instagram story.

Needless to say, it’ll be a surprise if Jelly Roll announces an Australian tour anytime soon.
