Journey Announce North American Farewell Tour For 2026

Journey has announced that they’ll be embarking on a farewell tour in 2026 and 2027. Dubbed The Final Frontier Tour 2026, the first leg of the tour will span 60 arena dates across American cities.

Journey won’t stop believin’, but they will stop touring after 2027.

While an exact final date hasn’t been announced, the rock legends will head out on what they intend to be the “first leg” of their final tour.

Starting in February, the Final Frontier Tour 2026 is set to kick things off with 60 dates scheduled in North American arenas that will keep the band busy through to early July. As of writing, the band haven’t announced when a second leg will take place; however, co-founder and lead guitarist Neal Schon has previously stated the current Journey lineup will tour into 2027.

The announcement of a farewell tour isn’t entirely unexpected, given Schon’s previous social media posts in early October. In those statements, the renowned guitarist would write that Jonathan Cain, the only other member of Journey’s classic lineup, would exit the band. Schon would then clarify that Cain only planned to leave after a 2026-2027 tour, but didn’t reveal that it would be the band’s final outing.

“As its founding member, I carry the Journey torch to this day, wherever I go,” Schon said in a statement. “The sentiment and spirit of the band will always remain. While this marks a farewell to one powerful chapter of the Journey we’ve shared, I want everyone to know I’m not done. Music is still burning strong inside me, and there are new creative horizons ahead. This tour is both a thank you and the beginning of what’s next.”

Cain offered his own statement as part of the tour announcement. “It’s been an incredible ride,” said the keyboard player. “We’ve shared our music with millions, and this tour is about gratitude, connection and one last chance to feel that magic together. We wouldn’t want it any other way.”

Journey has consistently remained one of the most consistent touring acts around, even after the departure of singer Steve Perry. In 2008, the band would recruit Arnel Pineda as frontman, and he has served as a popular substitute since.

As mentioned above, details of a second leg remain sparse, and the band haven’t confirmed an international tour, so if you’re a big Journey fan, or want to scratch them from your bucket list, you may need to go abroad for this one.

General sale for tickets starts November 14, 10am CST (3am November 15 AEDT).
