Kid Rock Lashes Out At “Fake Liberal Media” Reporting On His $5000 Tour Tickets: “God Will Cut ‘Em Down”

Kid Rock has lashed out at journalists for reporting that revealed tickets on his upcoming tour were listed as high as $5,000 USD.

Following his performance at Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show“, Kid Rock has suggested God may enact divine judgment against the “fake liberal media” who reported on his $5,000 USD ($7,063 AUD) tickets.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the singer-rapper turned political pundit was charging an arm and a leg for “first class tickets” to his Freedom 250 Tour.

“The fake liberal media says I’m charging $5,000 for front-row tickets,” he wrote in his message, only to clarify that he is, in fact, charging $5,000 for premium tickets on tour.

He goes on to say that the framing is wrong.

“They know damn well that’s not the full story,” he’d write.

“Instead of reporting facts or that lawn seats are only 50 bucks or how we are cutting out the scalpers, they twist it for headlines/clicks and to attack me — nothing new here.”

He goes on to explain that the tickets priced at $5,000 are part of 20 tickets set aside for each show which range from $1000-$5000: “Those are extremely limited First Class seats like I explained — FOUR tickets per row, first five rows only (5k per seat row 1, 4k row 2, 3k row 3, 2k row 4, 1k row 5) — Again ONLY 4 seats in rows 1 through 5 (20 ‘first class’ seats in venues that hold 15k to 25k people).”

As reported by Variety, other seats in the first nine or 10 rows are priced at $500 USD. If he manages to sell those 20 seats, he’ll be netting a solid $50,000 per night.

What makes the offering odd is that no other VIP benefits are offered with the tickets, aside from their proximity to the stage.

Kid Rock isn’t the only artist catching heat for their pricey tour tickets this week. Yesterday (February 21), it was reported that Bruce Springsteen was selling tickets for $3007 USD ($4,247 AUD) for front-row seats. With the rising costs of touring, it’s not surprising to see artists sign off on these extremely expensive tickets.

While Kid Rock argues that having cheaper tickets for $50 to offset the pricier front row tickets, it definitely signals a growing class divide over who can and can’t see their favourite bands perform live.
