Kiss Are Back In The Studio Despite ‘End Of The Road’ Farewell

Share

Turns out Kiss weren’t entirely done after all.

More than two years after wrapping up their supposedly final ‘End Of The Road’ tour at Madison Square Garden, Gene Simmons has confirmed that the band are back in the studio and have already recorded a brand new song written by Paul Stanley.

The update came during an appearance on the online fan show Kiss By Sienna, hosted by Sienna Hernandez, where Simmons was asked what he and Stanley had been working on since the band’s farewell run ended in late 2023.

‘Kiss is in the studio now,’ Simmons revealed. ‘So we just recorded a new song, as a matter of fact, that Paul wrote. I can’t tell you more about it. And that’ll be coming out at some point.’

For a band that heavily marketed ‘End Of The Road’ as their final chapter, the news probably won’t shock longtime Kiss fans all that much, Kiss have never really operated like a band comfortable with silence, and over the past year it’s become increasingly obvious that retirement wasn’t going to mean complete inactivity.

New documentary

Alongside the new material, Simmons also confirmed he’s currently working on a documentary focused on the band’s massive farewell tour, which stretched between 2019 and 2023, the bassist additionally used the interview to promote his upcoming Legends Of Rock event in Las Vegas, featuring names like Geezer Butler, Lita Ford, Steven Pearcy, and Dave Davies (per Louder Sound).

The new studio update also connects directly to Kiss’ long-discussed avatar project, which is currently scheduled to launch in 2028, earlier this year, Simmons and Stanley confirmed the digital concert experience would feature not only classic tracks but also unreleased new music written by the band.

‘We will have all the classics through the years and some surprises,’ Simmons previously explained. ‘And also new songs… written by us.’

Whether these new recordings eventually become standalone singles, part of the avatar project, or something larger remains unclear for now.

Kiss have already quietly returned to live performances too. The band reunited last November for two ‘unmasked’ appearances during Kiss Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas, and they’ve already confirmed another edition of the event for November 2026 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

So while the touring version of Kiss may have slowed down, it’s becoming pretty clear that ‘End Of The Road’ wasn’t exactly the end.
