Knives Out Returns With the Wake Up Dead Man Teaser

Share

Benoit Blanc is on the case again in the third Knives Out movie.

Netflix‘s Tudum event brings with it a veritable cavalcade of trailers, teasers, and info about the streaming service’s upcoming movies and series. However, this time we get a teaser but very little info, which makes sense because hey! It’s a mystery! Specifically, it’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the latest delicious detective story from writer and director Rian Johnson.

What’s the plot?

Excellent question! Wish we had an answer. Presumably there’s a murder, a slew of unusual suspects, and some top notch production design. Other than that, you’re on your own.

Who’s in it?

Former 007 Daniel Craig is, of course, back as suave Southern super sleuth Benoit Blanc. Johnson always manages to pull together amazing casts for his Knives Out flicks, and this one is no exception, so expect to see:

  • Josh O’Connor as Reverend Jud Duplenticy, a priest
  • Glenn Close as Martha Delacroix
  • Josh Brolin as Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, a priest
  • Mila Kunis as Geraldine Scott, a police chief
  • Jeremy Renner as Dr. Nat Sharp
  • Kerry Washington as Vera Draven
  • Andrew Scott as Lee Ross
  • Cailee Spaeny as Simone Vivane
  • Daryl McCormack as Cy Draven
  • Thomas Haden Church as Samson Holt

When’s it out?

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is coming to Netflix on Dec. 12.

What’s the vibe?

Extremely positive! We have a lot of love for Johnson’s Benoit Blanc puzzlers – and his excellent series Poker Face as well, come to think of it. We’ll be there with bells on when this one drops later in the year.
