Five months after unleashing one of the years heaviest collaborations, Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry have finally performed ‘Hive Mind’ together live.
The surprise performance took place at Substance Skatepark in Brooklyn, New York, where the band played an intimate free show for lucky fans (per The PRP).
It marked the first time the Grammy nominated hardcore outfit and Curry had shared the stage to perform the track since its release back in February.
Given the setting, the performance felt like the perfect home for the song, surrounded by concrete ramps, packed in fans and the kind of chaotic energy both artists thrive on, Hive Mind translated from studio recording to live pit exactly as many had hoped.
The show also couldn’t have been more different from Knocked Loose‘s previous high profile appearance, Earlier this month the band found themselves performing inside London’s massive stadium as support for Metallica, before swapping tens of thousands of fans for the close confines of a Brooklyn skatepark.
Elite chemistry
Released earlier this year, Hive Mind marked Knocked Loose’s first new music since 2024’s acclaimed You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To and showcased just how naturally Denzel Curry’s aggressive delivery fits within the band’s punishing hardcore sound.
At the time of its release, vocalist Bryan Garris explained why Curry was always the first choice for the collaboration:
“This is something we’ve talked about doing for a long time. We wondered if we could pull it off and who would be down. In the very beginning, we said for it to work, it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.”
That chemistry was on full display during the pair’s live debut, with fan-filmed footage quickly spreading online following the performance.

Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry are both scheduled to tour North America later this year, meaning there should be plenty more opportunities for Hive Mind to erupt live.
For Australian fans, the performance is another reminder of what could have been after Knocked Loose were forced to withdraw from last year’s Good Things Festival because of a family emergency.
With the band’s touring schedule continuing to expand and Hive Mind proving such a hit live, here’s hoping Australia finds itself back on their radar sooner rather than later.
