Things took an unexpected turn for Knocked Loose over the weekend after guitarist Isaac Hale revealed he had been hit by a car while the band was touring Europe.
Hale shared the update with fans via social media on May 30th, posting a selfie showing his arm wrapped in a support bandage following the incident. Despite the alarming circumstances, the guitarist appeared to keep his sense of humour intact, writing:
“Tour update got hit by a car yesterday felt bad but got this boba after and it was really good.”
The incident came shortly after the Kentucky hardcore outfit completed back to back performances in Zurich, Switzerland, during what has already become one of the biggest touring runs of their career (per Metal Injection).
Thankfully, the accident doesn’t appear set to derail the band’s packed schedule, Knocked Loose are continuing their European and UK dates, including several high profile stadium appearances supporting Metallica and Gojira throughout June. Festival appearances at Primavera Sound, Rock For People and Graspop Metal Meeting also remain on the calendar.
Wherever We May Roam tour diary
The timing is particularly notable as the band recently launched a new behind the scenes video series, Wherever We May Roam, giving fans an all access look at life on the road during their massive international tour. The title pays tribute to Metallica’s classic track Wherever I May Roam and follows the band’s journey across Europe as they transition from hardcore favourites to arena stage regulars.
Directed by Jared Leibowitz, the series captures everything from backstage moments and travel days to major performances in front of huge crowds, the first episode also includes the moment the band learned they would be joining Metallica on tour, alongside footage from Greece and other stops across the continent.
The band’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down, alongside their European commitments, Knocked Loose recently announced a North American co-headline run with Denzel Curry, following the release of their collaborative track Hive Mind earlier this year.
With arena dates, major festivals and a growing global profile, Knocked Loose continue to cement their place as one of heavy music’s most unstoppable forces, even when the road throws up unexpected obstacles. Australia next? Please!
