Korn Pause Sydney Good Things Festival Set Mid-Song Amid Crowd Concerns

Share

Korn’s Sydney headline set at Good Things Festival 2024 took an unexpected turn on Saturday night, as the band paused their performance mid-song during ‘Ball Tongue’ around 9:10 PM, seemingly in response to a situation unfolding in the crowd.

Security and medical staff were seen entering the moshpit, sparking speculation of a possible medical emergency.

The band picked up where they left off a few minutes later, tearing back into their set with the kind of raw energy and precision that’s cemented their place as legends in the alternative scene.

Crowd Concerns and Social Media Speculation

While there has been no formal confirmation of what caused the interruption, attendees took to social media to share their observations. Posts suggested crowd safety concerns, with some reporting individuals needing medical attention:

  • “Ambo’s cut through the crowd for medical emergency.”
  • “People in the crowd were passing out I’m pretty sure or about to pass out. I saw one person being carried out.”
  • “Saw a person getting stretchered out. Not sure what happened.”
  • “Dude who was participating in shoulder wrestling fell off of this 6ft dude’s shoulders and landed on his neck. He broke something in his neck as there was a massive lump bulging out, and after regaining consciousness, he tried to walk it off.”

The interruption came during a sweltering Sydney evening, with temperatures hovering around 30°C and 60% humidity, creating challenging conditions for the packed audience.

A Performance That Stuck the Landing

Even with the momentary disruption, Korn’s set was a standout of the day, blending their visceral energy with a clear care for audience well-being. Fans left the festival praising the band’s ability to command a crowd and adapt to the unpredictable nature of live events.

Good Things Festival 2024 has once again proven its place as one of the premier destinations for rock, metal, and alternative fans in Australia. After stops in Melbourne and Sydney, the festival heads to Brisbane today for its final stop, where fans can expect another unforgettable day of music and chaos.
