Linkin Park have cancelled tonight’s Adelaide concert on the ‘From Zero World Tour’, with the band confirming the news only moments ago after illness struck a member of the group.
The cancellation was announced around 20 minutes ago, just after 1pm (March 12th), hours before the band were scheduled to take the stage in Adelaide, the band shared a statement explaining that the decision was made due to health issues within the touring party.
For fans in South Australia who were preparing for tonight’s show, the update lands as a sudden turn in what has otherwise been a strong run of Australian performances so far.
Band confirms sudden cancellation
In a statement shared with fans, Linkin Park explained the situation behind the last minute call.
“We have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel tonight’s show due to an illness in the band. The Australian tour has been incredible so far and we are devastated that we’re unable to perform for our fans in Adelaide.”
The band also confirmed that the show will not be rescheduled, acknowledging the frustration many fans will be feeling right now.
“Unfortunately, the show will not be rescheduled. Please know that canceling a show is not a decision we take lightly. We are sorry to those fans who were planning to attend.”
Last minute cancellations are never simple during a major international tour, particularly when schedules are packed tightly across multiple cities.
The ‘From Zero World Tour’ has already delivered several major Australian shows this week, and the sudden illness has forced a quick change to the band’s schedule.
Refunds confirmed for ticket holders
Fans who purchased tickets will receive refunds automatically through their ticket provider.
“Tickets will be refunded at the point of sale, and you will be contacted directly by your ticketing company with more information.”
For Adelaide fans who had been counting down the hours to tonight’s performance, the news will come as a sharp disappointment, at this stage no other Australian tour dates have been affected, and the remaining shows are expected to proceed as scheduled.
