Marilyn Manson appears to have brought Tim Skold back into the fold, posting a photo alongside the guitarist with the caption: “We are the things of shapes to come. MM + TS.”
The post was short, cryptic, and very deliberate.
While no formal announcement has been made, the message strongly suggests Skold is returning to Manson’s live band, the move follows the recent departure of longtime collaborator Tyler Bates, who confirmed on January 5th that he would no longer be touring with Manson (per Lambgoat).
A Familiar Face Returns
Skold previously worked with Manson during the The Golden Age of Grotesque era and co-wrote and performed on 2009’s The High End of Low, his industrial leaning guitar style and production fingerprints were central to that chapter of Manson’s evolution.
Now, it seems that partnership may be reigniting.
Tyler Bates Steps Away
Earlier this year, Bates announced his exit from the touring lineup, explaining he was shifting focus back to his film, television and solo projects.
“Hello, Good People. Every New Year prompts reflection on all that has transpired and what lies ahead. In light of this, I have decided to conclude my time touring with Marilyn Manson to focus on my artist, film, and television projects.”
He added that he would continue supporting the upcoming release of ‘Chapter Two,’ calling it “our finest work together.”
Bates’ departure left a noticeable gap in the live band, especially following the release cycle for ‘One Assassination Under God: Chapter One.’ If Skold is officially back, it signals a pivot toward a different sonic energy.
Whether this reunion is temporary or the start of a new chapter remains to be confirmed, but the message was clear enough.
MM + TS.
