Motionless In White Hint Their New Album Is Locked In

Share

Motionless In White might be done cooking their next record, and if you’ve been watching closely, the signs are already there.

Frontman Chris Motionless recently teased that “big things” are on the way, now fans have picked up on something a little less subtle. His X bio currently reads: “No longer working on the next @miwband album.”

That’s about as close to a mic drop as you’ll get without an official press release, the update was flagged by a fan online, and notably, Motionless himself acknowledged the post, with no denial or walk-back, just enough fuel to send the Motionless In White community into overdrive (per Lambgoat).

Momentum is already building

If this really is the end of the recording cycle, the timing lines up perfectly, Motionless In White are coming off a serious run, with their latest single ‘Afraid of the Dark’ pushing them into new territory.

The track recently gave the band their first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, that’s not a fluke either, after debuting at No. 8, it surged to the top off the back of 2.1 million U.S. streams, radio reach hitting 18,000 listeners, and 2,000 digital sales in a single tracking week.

It’s the kind of climb that doesn’t happen unless people are paying attention, for a band that’s been circling that top spot for years, it feels earned. Their previous peak sat at No. 5 with ‘Masterpiece’ in 2022, and they’ve stacked up 13 entries on the chart since it launched, this time they finally broke through.

What it means for Australia

For Australian fans, this could land at the perfect moment, Motionless In White are heading down under next month, and if the album really is finished, there’s a strong chance new material could make its way into the set.

Obviously, no guarantees yet, but Motionless In White have never been the kind of band to sit on fresh tracks once they’re ready, they’ll be bringing Make Them Suffer and Currents along for the ride, which only adds to the weight of these shows.
