Movements Lean Back Into Their Emotional Core On New Single “Everything Is Fine”

Share

For a band that built its reputation turning discomfort into catharsis, Movements’ latest single feels like a deliberate return to familiar territory.

The Southern California post-hardcore favourites have shared Everything Is Fine, the latest preview of their upcoming album Happier Now, arriving September 4th via Fearless Records.

Across the band’s recent releases, Movements have gradually expanded beyond the raw emotional weight that first defined them, bringing in bigger hooks, broader textures and a more polished approach. But if Everything Is Fine is any indication, Happier Now might sit somewhere between old scars and new confidence.

Built around moody melodies and restrained tension rather than explosive release, the track leans into uncertainty, even its title feels loaded.

Frontman Patrick Miranda explained:

“Everything Is Fine is one of those songs that took a while to get right. It went through multiple different versions before we landed on this one, and it ended up being one of my favorite choruses on the record. It’s a song about anxiety, and I think fans of the earlier Movements subject matter will really enjoy this one.”

That balance seems to define the new record as a whole.

Produced once again by Grammy-winning producer Will Yip, whose credits include some of alternative music’s most influential modern records, Happier Now reportedly pulls together elements of Movements’ earlier material with the wider sonic experimentation heard across 2023’s RUCKUS!.

The timing feels fitting

After recently returning to Australia supporting Pierce The Veil’s sold-out arena run, and with another Warped Tour appearance on the horizon, Movements are increasingly occupying the rare space between scene veterans and a band still actively evolving.

If Everything Is Fine says anything, it’s that Movements still understand exactly how to soundtrack feeling okay while clearly not being okay.
