Nintendo Direct Live: Everything Announced At The Latest Event

Nintendo just hosted its Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, unveiling a slew of new titles coming to both the Switch and Switch 2.

Nintendo is just hosted a Nintendo a Direct Partner Showcase, showcasing new games coming to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Unlike previous showcases, these games were entirely made by third-party developers.

So, unfortunately we didn’t hear about titles like Metroid or another Pikmin game this time around. However, we did hear about the second best thing: games on the Nintendo Switch 2! Because let’s be honest, the library of games is rather thin right now, so a few new titles would go a long way to finally show off what this console can do.

The Nintendo Switch 2 released this year in June, launching only with Mario Kart World and The Welcome Tour. While the new Mario Kart was a phenomenal sequel, it was still hard to justify picking up the new console just for this game. It didn’t help that The Welcome Tour was essentially a paid instruction manual as well.

Nintendo has slowly started to role out new titles, however. Donkey Kong Bonanza only just came out two weeks ago, and has been a critical and financial success. We also have Pokémon Legends: Z-A set to release October 16, which is looking like it’ll inject new life into the franchise.

The release of the Nintendo Switch 2 also brought with it quality of life updates for older games. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom received updates, bringing the game up to current gen status. Unsurprisingly, these games have only grown more beloved since. Tears of the Kingdom is actually ranking as 2025’s highest rated game of the year so far.

So, with all that pre-amble out of the way, let’s dive in to what we’re all here for.
