Australia’s goth-metal faithful, it’s almost time to crawl out of the shadows.
UK legends Paradise Lost have officially announced an October 2026 Australian tour, bringing their towering catalogue of doom, gothic heaviness, and melancholy grandeur back to local stages. The Halifax pioneers will hit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne across three nights, promising a career spanning set that pulls from every era of their evolution.
Paradise Lost have always been one of those rare bands that didn’t just ride a wave, they built the coastline, from their early doom-death weight to the sleek, sorrowful gothic metal sound that shaped the ‘90s, their influence still bleeds through modern heavy music. You can hear it in everyone from Cradle of Filth and HIM through to newer school heavies like Gatecreeper and Chelsea Wolfe.
The tour is expected (via press release) to dig deep with early cuts from Shades of God and Icon, staples from Draconian Times and One Second, plus later-era firepower from In Requiem and Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us, all the way through to their most recent release, Ascension.
If you’ve ever wanted to hear the full arc of gothic metal history played by the people who helped invent it, this is your shot.
Live Reputation
Their live reputation is no joke, Paradise Lost are a band built on atmosphere, the kind that makes a room feel colder the second the first note lands, it’s heavy music delivered with precision.
“Fists pump and heads bang… as bleak and cripplingly heavy as in 1991… Nick Holmes’s vocals are full of snarling malevolence.” – Louder Than War
“Paradise Lost are still among the greatest and most influential metal bands their country has ever produced.” – Rockflesh
