Gold Coast, Australia – November 13th, 2024 — After leaving New Zealand fans in awe, Pearl Jam have officially kicked off their highly anticipated Australian tour with a powerful performance at Heritage Bank Stadium on the Gold Coast. Despite early delays caused by wild weather, the legendary rockers proved that nothing — not even rain — could dampen their spirit or the energy of their devoted fans.
As the skies cleared, the band hit the stage with their classic opener, Corduroy, setting the tone for a night that was equal parts nostalgic and electric. The crowd erupted as the familiar chords of Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town rang out, with Eddie Vedder’s soulful voice carrying through the stadium. The setlist featured a mix of beloved classics and new material, showcasing Pearl Jam’s dynamic range.
A Night to Remember on the Gold Coast
Pearl Jam’s Gold Coast show featured newer tracks like React, Respond and Dark Matter, which were introduced earlier during the New Zealand leg of their tour. These songs have quickly become fan favourites, showcasing the band’s ongoing creativity while staying true to their signature sound.
As the band transitioned into their encore, the energy in the venue reached fever pitch. Pearl Jam delivered an emotional rendition of Man of the Hour before cranking up the intensity with Do the Evolution and Breath. The night concluded with a powerful trio: Alive, Rockin’ in the Free World, and a heartfelt Better Man complete with a playful tag of The Beat’s Save It for Later.
