More than two decades after Hey There Delilah became one of the defining love songs of the 2000s, Plain White T’s have returned with a fresh take on the timeless hit, this time letting Delilah tell her side of the story.
The band have teamed up with Canadian pop-rock artist LØLØ for a newly reimagined version of the track, transforming the acoustic classic into a heartfelt duet that finally gives the song’s mysterious muse her own voice.
Originally released in 2006, Hey There Delilah went on to top the Billboard Hot 100, earn two Grammy nominations and become one of the most enduring love songs of its generation, more than 2.5 billion streams later, the track continues to find new audiences through social media, covers and viral rediscoveries.

The new version expands its story
LØLØ steps into the role of Delilah, delivering brand new perspective while harmonising with Tom Higgenson’s familiar vocals, the result feels both nostalgic and surprisingly fresh, offering longtime fans a new way to experience a song they’ve known for years.
For LØLØ, the collaboration is especially meaningful, the singer first went viral in 2020 after writing and performing her own unofficial response to Hey There Delilah from Delilah’s perspective on TikTok. Six years later, that fan created idea has become an official collaboration with the band who wrote the original.
Speaking about the experience, LØLØ said:
“I think everyone who grew up with ‘Hey There Delilah’ wondered at some point who Delilah really was. I know I did. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that she could be me one day! This song has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I even sung it at my camp talent show as a kid. In 2020, I wrote a response from Delilah’s POV that blew up on TikTok, so being invited by the Plain White T’s to officially reimagine the song six years later feels unbelievably full circle (and very surreal)! It’s truly an honor to be part of such an iconic song’s next chapter and I’m so grateful to help tell Delilah’s story in a new way.”
The release also highlights the remarkable staying power of Hey There Delilah. In an era long before FaceTime, TikTok and Instagram, the stripped back ballad captured the reality of long distance relationships in a way that continues to resonate across generations.
