Primus have unveiled the official music video for ‘The Ol’ Grizz’, giving fans another taste of the band’s latest creative chapter ahead of their highly anticipated return to Australia later this year.
Directed by Cage Claypool, the visually striking Primus clip accompanies one of the standout tracks from A Handful Of Nuggs, the EP released in May that also marks the recording debut of drummer John Hoffman with the band.
‘The Ol’ Grizz’ showcases everything fans have come to expect from Primus, with Les Claypool, Larry LaLonde and Hoffman weaving together frantic bass lines, psychedelic textures and unpredictable rhythms into the unmistakable sound that has defined the band for decades.
Hoffman’s arrival injects fresh energy into the trio, following his selection from more than 6,100 hopefuls during the band’s worldwide “Interstellar Drum Derby” audition last year (per Blabbermouth).
