Canadian punk legends Propagandhi are finally heading back to Australia, announcing their first run of local shows in almost eight years as part of a 2027 Australian and Aotearoa tour.
Politically charged four piece Propagandhi will kick off the tour in Sydney before making stops in Brisbane, Adelaide, Barwon Heads and Melbourne, with the run wrapping up across New Zealand in Wellington and Auckland.
Known for blending blistering melodic hardcore with uncompromising political commentary, Propagandhi have spent four decades building a reputation as one of punk’s most influential and outspoken bands.
Since forming in Manitoba, Canada, in 1986, they’ve remained fiercely independent while tackling issues including anti-fascism, environmentalism and social justice through their music.

At Peace
The tour arrives in support of the band’s acclaimed eighth studio album, At Peace, which continues their tradition of pairing technically impressive punk with thought provoking lyricism.
Reflecting on the record, guitarist and vocalist Chris Hannah says the band’s outlook has naturally shifted over the decades:
“Everything I’m singing about is still coming from being the same person that wrote and sang our first record How to Clean Everything in 1993.
“But what we’re putting into the songs now, probably reflects more despair than 30 years ago when we had similar perspectives, but with strands of hope and naivete. Now it’s the existential dread of eking out a life worth living in this completely failed society.”
For Australian fans, the announcement marks a long awaited return from a band whose live shows have become legendary for their intensity, musicianship and refusal to shy away from difficult conversations.
