Update: Rolling Loud Australia has officially been cancelled, with organisers confirming the Sydney (March 7) and Melbourne (March 8) 2026 dates will no longer go ahead.
After days of speculation and leaked emails circulating among ticketholders, the festival has now pulled the plug, and it’s pointing the finger at local promoter Primuse Entertainment.
In a statement released today, Rolling Loud said:
“Unfortunately, our local partner, Primuse Entertainment, failed to meet critical payment deadlines and related obligations. These ongoing delays left us without the necessary guarantees so close to the event.
“We will not compromise the safety or experience of our fans, artists and vendors.”
That confirmation ends a week of uncertainty after Primuse previously stated it was ‘in discussion’ with the global brand and urged fans to wait for official communication, in a statement provided to Rolling Stone AU/NZ:
“We are aware of media reports regarding Rolling Loud Australia. As the local promoter, we are currently in discussion with Rolling Loud and will provide an official update as soon as possible,” the statement reads.
“We ask fans to wait for confirmed information, which will be communicated directly via our official channels.”
A Rocky Road Back
Rolling Loud debuted in Australia in 2019 with a heavyweight lineup including Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti and Tyga, alongside local talent such as Manu Crook$, it was positioned as a major international hip-hop export planting its flag in this market.
A planned 2024 return was indefinitely postponed just weeks after announcement, in October 2025, organisers confirmed a 2026 comeback in a new two day format, aiming to re-establish momentum.
This year’s lineup was set to feature Gunna, Ken Carson, Sexyy Red, Tyla, Swae Lee, Lil Tjay, Quavo, Hooligan Hefs and YNG Martyr, alongside a dedicated local stage spotlighting Australian and New Zealand hip-hop artists.
For fans, the uncertainty feels familiar, large scale touring festivals have faced mounting logistical and financial pressures across Australia in recent years, whether this is another casualty or simply a communication lag remains to be seen.
For fans, the immediate concern now shifts to refunds and official next steps. At the time of writing, further details on ticket reimbursement are expected to be communicated directly via official Rolling Loud channels.
