Sanguisugabogg are bringing their filth soaked death metal circus back to Australia next month, and if the current ticket situation is anything to go by, the country apparently hasn’t recovered from the carnage they unleashed in 2024.
With most dates already sold out and the remaining shows hanging by a thread, Sanguisugabogg have now added a second and final Melbourne show at Stay Gold on Tuesday, June 16th.
It’ll also be one of the last heavy tours to rip through the soon to close venue, which somehow makes this whole thing feel even more unhinged.

Joining the newly announced Melbourne date are local death metal destroyers Algor Mortis, replacing Gutless, who remain locked in for the rest of the national run.

Murderball fun
If you witnessed Sanguisugabogg’s Australian debut, none of these sold out dates are surprising, the band’s now infamous ‘murderball’ ritual, where a football gets launched into the pit and whoever survives the next song clutching it wins merch, turned venues upside down.
This time around, they’re bringing Oklahoma’s PeelingFlesh with them for their first ever Australian shows, which only raises the probability of complete structural damage.
Musically, Sanguisugabogg continue leaning harder into the grotesque body horror chaos that’s made them one of modern death metal’s most divisive and talked about bands, tracks like ‘Face Ripped Off’, ‘Dragged By A Truck’ and ‘Necrosexual Deviant’ sound less like songs and more like blunt force trauma delivered through blown out amps and sewer grade vocals.
Sanguisugabogg ‘Dragged By A Truck’
Beneath the absurdity and gore drenched humour sits a genuinely lethal band, the riffs hit hard and the whole thing feels nastier and more deliberate than the meme era they first exploded with.
For Australian death metal fans, this tour’s shaping up as one of the year’s most punishing club runs annd judging by how fast tickets are disappearing, plenty of people are apparently eager to get flattened again.
