Sebastian Bach stepping in as Twisted Sister’s vocalist for the band’s 2026 shows might sound surreal.
For the former Skid Row frontman though, it’s the kind of full circle moment that started decades ago in crowded clubs and teenage bedrooms, speaking with WRIF’s Meltdown, Bach made it clear this isn’t a casual guest appearance, it’s a gig fuelled by genuine fandom (per Blabbermouth).
“I am a fan of TWISTED SISTER. And I’ll tell you right now, I’m probably a bigger fan of TWISTED SISTER than anybody watching this. I love that band.”
Bach went on to dig into the band’s early catalogue, shouting out records like You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll and Under The Blade, for him that era captured a version of Twisted Sister that felt ferocious long before MTV turned them into arena stars.
“I mean, I love ‘I Wanna Rock’, I love ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’, but there’s an earlier period of that band where they were one of the most ferocious rock bands that you will ever see.”
That raw energy is what he plans to bring to the stage
“When they were a club band, they would come out there like a punk rock band or a total thrash metal band… Well, that’s the kind of energy that I’m gonna bring. I mean, I’m not no spring chicken, but I still have a lot of energy when I get on the stage. And I’m going to give you guys fun and energy in TWISTED SISTER.”
The opportunity came after Dee Snider stepped aside from the band’s upcoming shows following medical advice, Bach revealed he spoke with Snider directly before agreeing to take the role.
“I just got off the phone with Dee Snider. We talked for about 45 minutes, and we were both kind of getting teary eyed.”
Snider reportedly told Bach he had arthritis and “bone on bone” issues in his knees, with doctors warning him to avoid the kind of high energy performances the band is known for, despite joining Twisted Sister, Bach stressed he isn’t walking away from his solo career or Skid Row classics.
“I will also say that I’ll never stop singing the songs ’18 And Life’, ‘I Remember You’, ‘Youth Gone Wild’, ‘Monkey Business’, ‘Slave To The Grind’ — I’ll never stop doing that.”
Twisted Sister’s current touring lineup is expected to feature Bach alongside guitarist Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda, with Russell Pzütto on bass and Joey Cassata on drums.
At press time, only one show has been confirmed, September 4th at the Alaska State Fair with additional dates expected to follow.
